Artisans in Senegal handcraft this lovely musical instrument from a calabash gourd, leather and wood. A traditional West African instrument, the kora is played facing the musician, and plucked similarly to a harp. Hand painted designs adorn the face of this kora, which offers ten tuners and vinyl strings.
